oh saturn my saturn
I’ve been mulling over Saturn transits lately, in particular, his uneasy transits to one’s natal moon. Saturn has this particular ability to constrict, restrict, limit and restructure. He is a massive planetary body, and the hefty weight of Saturn on much lighter, delicate little moon is undeniable. Where he touches the moon, she will feel boxed in, burdened, and quite suffocated.
Limitless opportunities and playthings that were in focus yesterday suddenly become far out of reach and may seem no longer attainable. Depressive clouds may roll in and reality may appear lackluster, with feelings of isolation and severe internal pressure, draining the joy out of living. (Even that boundless Neptune with his dreamscapes can’t always remedy tough Saturn transits!)
Saturn does serve his purpose - he wants you to take responsibility in areas of life that may have gotten too frivolous and careless. After all, the child must grow up and eventually give up his or her play things and far reaching dreams in order to learn, grow, and become a contributing member of human race who is ready to integrate into our subjectively “civilized” society as a functioning adult (more or less). Structure equals discipline and discipline is not always welcomed by the native.
If you are experiencing Saturn-moon transit (or any other major Saturn transits), ask yourself, where do you need to take more responsibility? Is there an aspect of your life where you have been a little too playful, escaping from responsibility and procrastinating on accomplishing important tasks? Is there something in need of serious restructuring? Are your dreams attainable and how will you get there in practical terms? It may be time to sit down and review what exactly is feeling tense and pressured within. It’s ok to pause or even give up some of the play things in order to build solid foundations for the beautiful future experiences to come. Stress prompts us to grow and evolve, and I’m hoping every Saturn transit may crack open a hard shell of a beautiful seed sprouting forth new life evolving out of fathomless potential we all carry within us.
