OCTOBER 2

Solar Eclipse in 10 degrees Libra

themes tied around the Aries-Libra axis, which is the axis of self vs. others.

We start off the month quite strong , with a New Moon solar eclipse in Libra. Solar eclipses and new moons herald new beginnings and are great for manifestation practices because energetically, initiating new projects and planting seeds for our future manifestations is well supported at this time.

This Solar Eclipse, however, carries a different energetic signature... With this one, there is an emphasis on completion and a karmic release. It is, indeed, a new beginning—but with an extra homework assignment!

This is the last of eclipses occuring on the Aries/Libra axis, wrapping up its final tests and forcing us to review its signature lessons associated with these two signs. Lunar energetics are shifting—more on that in later posts—but for now, with the October solar eclipse, this new moon is helping us close out and integrate lessons from Aries and Libra we have been learning this past year and a half. We are also coming off a recent lunar eclipse in September, which stirred things up emotionally, setting the ground for major emotional outbursts. And although this solar eclipse is occuring in the air sign of Libra, there are a lot of water elemets activated at this time, indicating that emotions are taking front row and center in our energetic space.

Another important indicator why this solar eclipse is going to bring about closures is because it is occurring on the South Node. The South Node holds the energy of karmic release, separation, letting go, and closure. So, while the New Moon eclipse marks the beginning of a new commitment and a new cycle (due to its nature of being a new moon), it also requires proper endings with some growing pains in order to move forward. An old relationship cycle is ending, and a new one is right around the corner.

This might show up as old relationship issues and patterns resurfacing and boiling over. The energy could feel something like, "I’ve been doing this for so long, and I just can’t take it anymore. I’m done," "I am ready for change," “I need to try something different”, etc. If these old patterns and issues come up, they may feel like it is the last time we are willing to tolerate or repeat them. Internally, there’s a readiness and a sense of being prepared for a new chapter.

This doesn’t just apply to relationships with others—it can also show up in your relationship with yourself. You might calling yourself out on your own bullshit and unhealthy behaviors. You may feel the urge to prioritize your needs. Or realize that you must priortize the needs of your relationship in order for it to grow, or you may want to make adjustments within yourself to attract different relationship dynamics altogether.

Either way, with this solar eclipse in Libra, be ready to experience internal growth and feel more empowered around themes such as people-pleasing and co-dependencies. If you're single or coming out of a relationship, this eclipse marks a powerful new beginning, achieved through closure and working through past dynamics that have either outlived their purpose or become a liability to your future growth.

With this ecilpse, there is a heavy emphasis on communication because it closely involves Mercury, by conjuction. So expect a lot of verbal exchanges and new ideas being expressed. Do be cautious to not speak out of anger and practice non-violent communication in order to make this exchange productive and healing, rather than hurtful. Choose your words carefully and try to avoid sharp verbal exhanges or speaking out of alignment, as Mars and Uranus are in a tense aspect to this eclipse, which can stir the pot of conflict, requiring some damage control afterward.

Despite Mars and Uranus causing tension by squaring the eclipse, there is a trine between the Eclipse’s ruler Venus, Mars, and Saturn, which will help smooth things out and offer solutions to conflicts through emotional processing, whether in conversation or through writing. It’s an excellent time for journaling, speaking with a counselor or therapist, doing shadow work and releasing emotional blocks. When directed intentionally and in a grounded way, this energy could also lead to productive conversations. Addressing internal grievances can pave the way for growth and compromise.

In spite of these tense aspects, I also see potential for healing emotional wounds around Venusian themes. Hopefully, this energy can lead to a fruitful resolution of some of these intense emotions. The magic potential here is to be able to address and resolve issues around uncomfortable emotional dynamics while cherishing those precious relationship bonds and remaining fair. Also, please keep in mind that eclipses are often felt days or even weeks before they occur. So don’t be surprised if these themes have already been showing up in your life, well before the actual eclipse on October 2nd. I see this a lot—most of the time, events begin to peak about 7 to 10 days before the eclipse, as the energy builds up.

OCTOBER 5

venus in scorpio trines saturn in pisces

Thankfully, Venus comes into a favorable contact with Saturn soon after the eclipse, offering supportive energy for new commitments and much-needed grounding. Additionally, the Moon will be in its crescent phase, making it an ideal time for rebuilding, setting intentions, and future-oriented energetic activations. During this phase, right after the eclipse, the Moon re-emerges with fresh energy—perfect for re-establishing connection, intimacy, and relationship goals. Plus, with the Moon in Scorpio, the ultimate sign of rebirth and transformation, the energy is especially potent. Use this magical time to deeply tune into your needs and tap into your own inner restorative powers and healing abilities.

OCTOBER 6-7

MERCURY IN LIBRA SQUARES MARS IN CANCER

High potential for conflict, miscommuncation, or hasty decisions. We may feel more impulsive or express ourselves without a filter and come to regrest it later… it’s a good time to be more mindful about how you communicate and to consider the impact of your words on others. Although this transit can stimulate creativity and drive, it requires a balancing act to avoid unnecssar friction.

MARS STATIONARY RETROGRADE IN CANCER

Additionally, on this day of tension with Mercury, Mars officially begins its stationary retrograde cycle affecting our ambition and motivation. Mars is the planet of action and self-assertion, and when the planet of action goes retrograde, we may experience slowdowns in areas related to ambition, self-expression, and achievement. Similar to other planetary retrogrades, this is a time to “go back and review.”

OCTOBER 8

VENUS IN SCORPIO TRINES MARS IN CANCER

Harmonious blend of emotional depth and passion, fostering intense connections in relationships. This alignment encourages nurturing expressions of love and desire, enhancing intimacy. It’s lovely time for deepening bonds, as both partners may feel more inclined to explore their feelings and dsires with vulnerability and understanding.

OCTOBER 9

JUPITER STATIONARY RETROGRADE

Planet Jupiter slows down and prepares itself for retrograde motion in the sign of Gemini. This indicates that certain areas of life may experience slowdowns in expansion and restricted growth. Since Jupiter will be retrograding in Gemini, it will impact us all universally in the areas ruled by this sign, such as publishing, speaking, journalism, communications, and short trips. Gemini also rules over the nervous system and siblings, so you may see impacts in these areas as well.

Jupiter, the planet itself, governs over higher education, travel, cultures, and international relations—all these areas are likely to see slowdowns as well. This will create a theme of “expansion vs. contraction.” Its retrograde movement may feel more like a contraction. You might experience delays where you typically expect growth and abundance, which can lead to a reevaluation of your belief systems and ideologies.

Another theme of Jupiter retrograde can involve revisiting old opportunities and past projects, which may resurface and offer you a chance to tie up unfinished business and complete old projects. And here’s a strange fun fact! Jupiter retrograding may actually lead to the opposite effect for some. Instead of feeling constricted, you might find expansion in areas that have felt restricted until now. So, you may see things like travel, publishing, spirituality, and writing finally pick up and expand with forward momentum (lucky you!).

OCTOBER 11

PLUTO STATIONARY DIRECT IN CAPRICORN

Pluto is slowly turning direct, completing its journey through the final degrees of Capricorn where it has been retrograding until now. The last degrees of any zodiac sign hold special significance, embodying the culmination of that sign’s energy. Thus, when Pluto moves direct in these last degrees, it signals a substantial transition in both personal and collective energies related to transformation and power dynamics, particularly concerning themes of authority, structures, and institutions. This period could herald changes in leadership, government, and societal frameworks.

One of the key lessons as Pluto wraps up its time in Capricorn, revolves around the completion of transformational experiences related to responsibility and ambition. This marks the end of certain cycles tied to these themes. If you have planets in these final degrees of Capricorn, Pluto may offer you a gift, as it often does following challenging transits, when its lessons have been learned and integrated.

OCTOBER 13

MERCURY ENTERS SCORPIO

SUN IN LIBRA TRINES JUPITER IN GEMINI

Planet Mercury shifts from Libra to Scorpio, bringing depth and intensity to our communications. The energy becomes less airy, guiding our thoughts toward hidden truths, psychology, the occult, and all sorts of deep dive investigations. If you love Halloween, like I do, you may find yourself irresistibly drawn to all things spooky, and occult topics and practices. This Scorpio vibe will deepen even more when the Sun transitions from Libra to Scorpio on October 18th.

As for practical applications, Mercury in Scorpio is fantastic for exploring and deepning your occult practices. It's a great time to pick up that tarot deck you've been wanting to try or to dive deeper into astrology, shadow work, and self-discovery. All of these pursuits will thrive under the influence of Mercury in the focused and mysterious sign of Scorpio.

However, keep an eye out for power struggles during this period. Triggers may arise, prompting battles for control. You might notice an imbalance in power dynamics, with others attempting to dominate you or, conversely, you unintentionally trying to assert your power over others, leading to some drama.

Fortunately, a brief, harmonious transit of the Sun in Libra trining Jupiter in Gemini around this time should help ease any lingering tension from the recent eclipses and the buildup from Mercury’s journey through Scorpio leading up to the full moon. Embrace this moment of optimism—consider going on a short trip and enjoy the social interactions that come your way!

OCTOBER 14

SUN IN LIBRA SQUARES MARS IN CANCER

VENUS IN SCOPRIO OPPOSES URANUS IN TAURUS

VENUS IN SCOPRIO TRINES NEPTUNE IN PISCES

This Sun square Mars aspect could lead to conflicts of will and struggles between egos. It’s important to resist the urge to lash out or let yourself get overly triggered. Adding to the mix, Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus, and since both planets are in fixed signs, you might see some unexpected acting out in relationships with unyielding to compromise stubbornness. Scorpio and Taurus are known for their stubbornness and unwillingness to embrace change; they often refuse to make concessions and stand their ground. So, try to remain flexible to navigate these dynamics, as compromise may be tough to achieve when no one wants to budge. At this timeThe moon is gaining fullness and gearing up to shine its light as a full moon in Aries.

Fortunately, around this time, we also get a sweet aspect between Venus in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, creating a lovely trine that brings a more elevated and idealistic vision to our interactions. Neptune can help us tap into compassion and see the best in others. While it might lean toward being overly idealistic, it can also help soothe some of the brewing tensions. This energy is great for strengthening emotional bonds and increasing passion in love.

OCTOBER 17-18

VENUS ENTERS SAGITTARIUS

Venus moves into fiery Sagittarius, eager to meet new people and explore uncharted territories. Expect to feel more sociable and intellectually curious. It’s an ideal time to step outside your comfort zone, try new experiences, and connect with people—especially those from different backgrounds or cultures. Venus in Sagittarius thrives on adventure and spontaneity, which could be exciting or overwhelming, depending on your personality. Be mindful of the temptation to overindulge in pleasure or flirtation, especially if you’re prone to pushing limits in those areas. And if you tend to be more shy or reserved, enjoy a health dose of courage and open up, take a risk of new encounters outside of your comfort zone.

FULL MOON IN 25 degrees aries

The full moon occurs on October 17th or 18th, depending on where you are located. We are met with the powerful energy of the full moon in Aries! This is the first full moon since the solar eclipse earlier in the month, and it holds particular significance. Full moons following eclipses are times of integration and processing of the energies stirred up in the preceding weeks. It’s a period of culmination, where the events set in motion during the eclipse season reach their peak. You may find yourself tested on the lessons that came up during the eclipse and whether you've truly absorbed them.

We’ve been swimming in watery emotional energies for much of the month, but this full moon quickly ignites a fiery intensity. In the U.S., this is a particularly charged moment with the political climate heating up ahead of the upcoming November elections. Pluto, moving direct in Capricorn, is testing the structures of authority and governance, amplifying tensions. And let’s be real, you don’t need astrology to know that things are getting increasingly tense in the U.S —people are bound to be more argumentative and reactive near this critical time.

Of course, political tension isn’t the only way the full moon’s energy will manifest. There are countless ways this lunar tide could play out on both personal and collective levels, but overall, expect heightened emotions, fiery reactions, and a general air of intensity.

One thing is for sure—you’ll want to stay grounded with this one. Set firm boundaries for what you will and won’t accept from others, and do your best to stick to them until this emotional wave subsides. Why am I seeing so much intensity here? Well, Mars and Pluto, the planets of war and action, are locked in a tense configuration with the Sun and the Moon. And don’t forget, this full moon is in fiery, Mars-ruled Aries, where she takes on a warrior-like, temperamental energy, prone to conflict and outbursts. Add Chiron into the mix, and you have a recipe for some deep emotional wounds getting triggered. As the saying goes, “hurt people hurt people.” When our core wounds are poked, especially those related to self-expression, independence, or anything closely tied to our identity, there’s a tendency to lash out.

Jupiter does offer some support to this full moon, but due to its expansive nature, it’s like throwing a magnifying glass over everything. It could blow emotions up even more, amplifying what’s already bubbling beneath the surface. Tensions will be high, and the potential for conflict is significant. I know I keep saying this, but it’s so important to stay grounded during this time and avoid burning bridges—you don’t want spicy words spoken in a moment of heat to leave lasting scars.

The chart for this full moon is filled with tense aspects. People will likely act out without warning, driven by emotions they can’t contain because that fiery energy will demand a fast release. Please be especially careful on the roads during this time with Mars and Pluto’s involvement. Don’t try to impose your will or control on others, and if someone attempts to do this to you, maintain a firm, neutral boundary. This full moon is really about finding balance between expressing yourself authentically and doing so in harmony with others—which, to be honest, is not what I’m seeing here with this lunation.

There’s also an awkward, quirky aspect atplay—a Yod to the Sun from Uranus and Neptune, which highlights tension around self-expression. It suggests some unresolved discomfort with individuality or not living up to certain ideals and expectations. This can further lead to hurt feelings, and when those hurts aren’t handled well, they can spiral into anger and out-of-control reactions. With no personal planets in earth signs, and most of the chart dominated by water elements, expect BIG feelings. The remedy here is to stay grounded, drive carefully, speak mindfully, and paying attention to any signs of conflict escalating quickly. If things feel unsafe or destabilizing, it’s wise to step away until the intensity passes.

Shortly after the full moon on the 18th, the Moon moves into its waning gibbous phase, inviting us into a time of reflection, release, and introspection. This phase is all about processing what the full moon brought to the surface, particularly the emotional waves we’ve been riding. Full moons, in essence, are like clearing out the attic—creating space within our subconscious emotional landscape and healing whatever bubbles up. It’s an emotional cleanse, unblocking energies that pave the way for new manifestations. I always see full moons as powerful times of release, sparking incredible magnetism and activating the magic of manifestation.

OCTOBER 22

SUN IN LIBRA SQUARES PLUTO IN CAPRICORN

SUN ENTERS SCORPIO

MERCURY IN SCORPIO TRINES SATURN IN PISCES

. Welcome to Scorpio season, everyone! With this shift, our perspectives, attitudes, and overall internal energies transform. Scorpio energy is vastly different from Libra—it’s deeper, more introspective, and carries a seriousness that differs from Libra’s airy charm. Scorpio season signals a time for transformation, a desire to dive deeper into research or studies, and a craving for more meaningful connections. Passions intensify, and the superficial melts away, leaving room for authenticity and depth in both relationships and personal pursuits. On its way out, however, our glorious Sun in its last degrees of Libra squares off with Pluto. This can manifest as a powerful burst of ego clashes and overreaction. The main themes of this clashes are around personal identiy (the Sun) and power dynamics (Pluto). This aspect can prompt intense confrontations where deep-seated issues may come to a surface.

Also around this time, Mercury (still in Scorpio) forms a trine with Saturn in Pisces. This is a grounding aspect, helping to bring discipline and focus to our minds. It’s an excellent time for mental clarity, concentration, and pushing through any intellectual work or introspective practices. This dynamic has the potential to help ground down our emotions if conflict does occur.

OCTOBER 28

MARS IN CANCER TRINES NEPTUNE IN PISCES

VENUS IN SAGITTARIUS SQUARES SATURN IN PISCES

At the end of the month, we are gifted a harmonious trine between Mars in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces. This aspect brings a soothing, almost forgiving energy between Mars, the warrior, and Neptune, the dreamer. It’s a beautiful opportunity for tension to dissolve, creating a sense of common ground and love. It’s also an ideal time to take aligned action, especially in manifesting your dreams or diving into creative projects. In short, this is the time to create—whether that’s art, our manifestation lists, or new paths forward.

However, not everything will be smooth sailing. Venus in Sagittarius squares off with Saturn in Pisces around this time, and with that square comes a bit of a reality check. Venus, eager to explore and expand, bumps into Saturn’s more restrictive, responsible energy. It’s a moment to temper those adventurous impulses with a sense of duty and responsibility. But, don’t let that constriction hold you down too much—allow yourself to release some of the pressure and find a balance between fun and obligation.

OCTOBER 30

MERCURY IN SCORPIO OPPOSES URANUS IN TAURUS

We close out a month with a dose of electric and disruptive energy between Mercury and Uranus. Unexpected insights and revelations can disrupt conventional thinking and communication patterns. This aspect also encourages original, even eccentric ideas, but may also lead to misunderstandings and erratic way of thinking. The need for freedom clashes with deeper emotional truths. It’s a time to embrace spontaneity and originality in thought, while being mindful of how this way of thinking can impact relationships and interactions. Also be extra careful on the roads or with any use of tools - this energetic can put us in an accident prone position when performing a task using our hands (such as when holding sharp instruments) or when using mechanical apparatuses (such as driving our cars).

AND FINALLY…

This wraps up the astrology for October and I hope this month finds you well! More post Eclipse aftercare is coming in November and December months, during which we can start applying what we have integrated from these eclipses. Please check back in for the upcoming astrological forecast for November.

Lastly, helpful personal tip - I always find it helpful to tap into the missing element to balance out the energies of the month, which in this case, is the element of Earth. When the element Earth is missing from the chart, it’s a call to add our own Earth element to balance out the current energetics. This can be done by grounding down and creating rootedness and boundaries - in whichever form this is appropriate for you. From grounding mediations, to walking outside and touching trees, to hanging out with your favorite crystals, this is a friendly reminder to tap into the Earth energy. Earth represents stability, structure, practicality, and the tangible aspects of existence, like material security and reliability. Without Earth’s influence, we might struggle with staying organized, managing day-to-day responsibilities, or finding a sense of stability. We may feel more comfortable in the realms of ideas (Air), emotions (Water), or passions (Fire), but could find it challenging to deal with practical, mundane tasks or long-term planning. So give the Earth element a little love and please stay well!

With much love and until next time,

Katerina Rose
