Oh haiiiii Mars retrograde, let’s make the best of you, shall we?

Soon after our last Mercury retrograde wraps up, we are greeted by yet another major retrograding planet - Mars.

Mars goes retro every 2.2 years and lasts about 3 months! (Counting its pre- and post- shadow periods)
It starts at the end of October and won’t be going full throttle again until March of next year.. 😅

What does this mean exactly?

Mars rules passion, ambition, sexuality, and our ability to take action in the world. Depending on its native placement, it describes the way we assert our selves, coloring our masculine energy with its unique style. As with all retrogrades, the energy of the planet turns inward. Forward linear motion is no longer the right path and we may find ourselves zigzagging through the forest, off the beaten path. In some cases, it may be more beneficial to go backwards, retracing our steps and discovering what we missed the first time around.

During a retrograde Mars’ natural ambition may be thwarted and even backfire as the energy is flowing in reverse. Think pulling the nets back in and assessing the catch, rather than ambitiously casting them into sea.

During these months it is more beneficial to take care of small projects instead of initiating huge ones unless it’s something that’s been in the works for some time.
In other words, if there had been a major undertaking sitting unfinished in the background, now is a great time to revisit it and make a list of small actionable steps that may eventually lead to its completion, followed by a full reveal / launch in the months of March and April.

I definitely sense spring of 2023 as a major hatching period for many, more so than usual as naturally happens in the spring months in the northern hemisphere. Meanwhile, current energy is one of incubation and taking care of daily responsibilities, sorting through what comes our way this winter.

As a personal side note, this is a profoundly deep winter season for me energetically, regardless of the actual season outside. It began in mid July and shall continue for another few months. Fortunately, Saturn is finally taking a direct turn and some of his heaviness is shifting forward, no longer stagnating on my descendant.
